Abstract

The quest for efficient and flexible energy transfer has given rise to Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) technology, which allows the transmission of electrical energy from power source to consuming device deprived of physical connectors. This transformative technology has garnered significant responsiveness due to its possible applications across various domains, including consumer electronics, electric vehicles, medical devices, and industrial systems. With advancements in resonant inductive coupling, microwave transmission, and laser-based systems, WPT is poised to redefine the boundaries of energy distribution. This article explores the fundamentals of WPT, its key applications, current challenges, and future prospects. Spanning numerous methods, such as inductive coupling, capacitive coupling, and radiation-based systems (microwave or laser), WPT enables the charging and powering of devices in ways that traditional electrical systems cannot achieve. This innovation is particularly relevant in an era where mobility, convenience, and safety are paramount.
