Abstract

Animal biotechnology has become a revolutionary subject that combines genetics,
farming, and medicine. It offers new ways to solve global problems like food security,
disease management, and drug manufacture. Scientists have used genetic
engineering, cloning, transgenesis, and genome editing to make livestock more
productive, generate animals that are immune to disease, and make useful scientific
models. Transgenic animals are also being utilised more and more to make
therapeutic proteins and help with research on organ transplants.
Animal biotechnology has many scientific and commercial benefits, but it also
presents difficult moral, environmental, and social questions. Concerns of animal
welfare, biodiversity, ecological balance, food safety, and the moral limits of genetic
tinkering need to be thought about very carefully. The responsible use of these
technologies is also heavily influenced by how the public sees them, the rules that
are in place, and their long-term viability.
This article talks about the scientific advances in animal biotechnology and the moral
issues that come up as a result. It stresses the necessity for fair policies, open
research processes, and ethical oversight to make sure that innovation moves
forward in a responsible and sustainable way.
Key words:
Genetic Engineering Animals with genes from other species Editing the Genome Animal Welfare • Bioethics Sustainable Farming
