Pyrolysis of Agro Wastes for Renewable Energy Production in Shendam Local Government Using Aspen-Plus and Monte-CarloBy Isaac Jato, Pyokpang Adamu Gyenvwot, Kabir Garba, Maryam Ibrahim, Babatunde M. O, Lawal Jibril Imam
Abstract: The global decline in fossil fuel availability, coupled with increasing concerns over climate change, has accelerated the search for sustainable and decentralized energy solutions. Agro-waste, particularly lignocellulosic food waste, has shown great promise as an alternative energy feedstock. This study explores the potential of pyrolysis technology for onsite energy production using fruit-based food waste collected from markets and food enterprises in Shendam Local Government Area, Plateau State, Nigeria. The selected …

Conversion of Heat Absorbed (Waste Heat) in a Building for Electricity Generation Using a Thermoelectric GeneratorBy Muhammed Okoliko Ibrahim, Abbas Adamu, Abdullahi Adamu Mazadu, Paul Thomas Muge, Isaac Jato
Abstract: This study investigates the feasibility of thermoelectric generators (TEGs) for recovering waste heat from building systems and converting it into electrical energy through the Seebeck effect. A journal-scale simulation framework integrating ANSYS thermal modeling with MATLAB/Simulink electrical analysis was developed to evaluate TEG deployment on building envelope surfaces at the Federal Polytechnic Nyak Shendam, Nigeria. Results demonstrate a proportional increase in electrical output with rising temperature gradients, confirming predictable thermoelectric …

Proximate Analysis and Functional Activities of African Pear Fruit (Dacryodes edulis) Grown in Makurdi, North Central NigeriaBy Babatunde M. O., Mathew Olaleke Aremu, Jude C. Onwuka, Solomon J. Anzene, Isaac Jato
Abstract: Dacryodes edulis (African Pear Fruit) is an indigenous edible fruit that is used for both food and medicine in North Central Nigeria. The nutritional composition and functional properties of Dacryodes edulis were studied using standard analytical techniques. The fruits were analyzed for Physico-chemical characteristics (pH, Titratable acidity and Total insoluble solids), proximate analysis (Crude protein, Ash content, dry matter content), Mineral analysis (Se, Mn) and antioxidant activity (TBARS). The analyzers …
