Impact of I/Q Imbalance Due to Gain and Phase Mismatcheson IRR, Image Leakage, Constellation Distortion, SNR and BER in OFDM SystemsBy Yashvi Mojidra, Vidhi Sheth, Rizwan Alad, Nirav Desai, Ashish Pandya, Purvang Dalal
Abstract: Due to its great spectral efficiency and resilience to multipath fading, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing,or OFDM, has become a popular modulation technique in contemporary wireless communication systems.Reliable OFDM reception depends on accurate channel estimate, and methods like Least Squares (LS) andMinimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimation are frequently used to make up for channel impairments. However, despite effective channel estimation, practical receiver performance can still be degraded by radio-frequency front-end imperfections, …

RIS-Assisted 6G Wireless Communication: BER, Security Gain and Multi-Metric Performance AnalysisBy Rahil Alad, Sagar Kavaiya, Rizwan Alad, Narendrakumar Chauhan, Purvang Dalal
Abstract: Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) provide programmable control over wireless signal propagation and are emerging as a promising technology for enhancing the reliability, energy efficiency, coverage, and physical-layer security of sixth generation (6G) wireless networks. This paper presents a unified simulation-based performance evaluation of conventional SISO, 4G SIMO, and 6G multi-antenna communication systems, followed by an RIS-assisted reliability and security analysis under Rayleigh fading conditions. The simulation results demonstrate that antenna …

Machine Learning-Based Channel Estimation for 5G NR Systems: A Comprehensive Review of TDL/CDL Channel Models and CNN ArchitecturesBy Parth Jakhaniya, Ashish Pandya, Rizwan Alad, Nirav Desai, Purvang Dalal
Abstract: Accurate channel estimation is a fundamental requirement for reliable communications in fifth-generation New Radio (5G NR) systems, where highly dynamic propagation environments impose severe challenges on conventional pilot-based methods. This study provides a thorough analysis of channel estimate methods for 5G NR, including everything from contemporary deep learning (DL) techniques based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to traditional Least Squares (LS) and Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimators. Our analysis …

Antenna and Beam-Control Optimization of RIS-Assisted 6G Links: Phase Resolution, Directivity and Energy EfficiencyBy Sagar Kavaiya, Narendrakumar Chauhan, Rizwan Alad, Mitesh Limachia, Purvang Dalal
Abstract: This paper presents an antenna-oriented investigation of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted sixth- generation (6G) wireless links, emphasizing practical design factors beyond conventional RIS versus non-RIS bit-error-rate comparisons. Four parameters are evaluated: phase-shifter resolution, reflected-beam directivity, aperture-dependent spectral efficiency, and controller-aware energy efficiency. A Rayleigh-fading binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) link is used for reliability analysis, while the RIS is modeled as a uniformly spaced reflective aperture through its array factor. The …
