Abstract: The reverse osmosis membrane is very sensitive to contaminations present in seawater which makes the pre-treatment step very important to ensure maximum efficiency of the RO process. The photocatalysis can be used to replace the conventional chemical pretreatment process. Semiconductors photocatalysts are used to oxidize contaminated seawater.
