Extraction of Nicotine from Tobacco Leaves used for Animal CleansingBy Swapnil A. Dharaskar
Abstract: Nicotine is addictive. An average cigarette yields about 2 mg of absorbed nicotine, and in lesser doses of that order, the substance acts as a stimulant in mammals, while high amounts (50-100 mg) can be harmful. This stimulant effect is a contributing factor to the addictive properties of tobacco smoking. Nicotine’s addictive nature includes psychoactive effects, drug-reinforced behavior, compulsive use, and relapse after abstinence, physical dependence and tolerance. Nicotine can …

Desulfurization of Light Fuels Using Trihexyl Tetradecyl Phosphonium BromideBy Shivam Varma, Swapnil A. Dharaskar, Samir K. Deshmukh
Abstract: Owing to the stringent environmental regulations in many countries for production of ultra-low sulfur petroleum fractions with the aim to reduce sulfur emissions, has resulted in increased interest in this area among the scientific community. The need for zero sulfur emissions enhances the requirement of more advanced techniques in desulfurization. The mechanism of desulfurization by extraction is a promising approach having several advantages over the conventional method of hydrodesulphurization. The …

Enhancement of Heat Transfer Coefficient in Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Using 1-Butyl-3-Methylimidzaolium BromideBy Swapnil A. Dharaskar, Prashant R. Tayade
Abstract: Improvement in heat transfer coefficient in heat exchanger plays very important energy saving role in the industries. In this study the effect of ionic liquid on HT coefficient was studied using a lab scale shell and tube heat exchanger (length-39 cm, shell diameter 9 cm, Tube diameter 0.62 cm). Also the effect of cold and hot flow rate on heat transfer coefficient, Effect of mass concentration of ionic liquid was …

Novel Ionic Liquids Supported Membranes: A ReviewBy Tejas T. Shetiye, Shamli S. Chavan, Swapnil A. Dharaskar
Abstract: In this work, a supported ionic liquid membrane (SILM) can be prepared by impregnating different types of polymers with suitable novel phosphonium-based ionic liquids (ILs). ILs have reached an enormous interest as CO2 solvents and other engineering applications due to their unique properties such as negligible vapour pressure and selectivity, making them very attractive in order to obtain stable supported liquid membranes. This work can appraise the preparation and use …
