Abstract

In India waste is producing in large amount from cutting and dressing industries of stone. This waste creates the problem for surrounding area as well as human being. Keeping such as issues in mind an experimental work was conducted on concrete by using marble waste (MW). Marble waste (MW) 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% was added as filler. To examine the fresh properties of concrete slump test of workability was performed. Mechanical performance was assessed by performing splitting tensile strength, density, flexural strength and compressive strength for all mixes. Durability properties; rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT), water penetration and water absorption for control and blended mixes were assessed. Outcomes obtained from the experimental work indicated enhancement in flexural, splitting tensile and compressive strength for all type of blended mixes as compared to control mix. Durability results obtained from water penetration and water absorption test specified less water absorption compare to control concrete. Keywords: Concrete, marble waste, mechanical properties, water permeability, water penetration, RCPT
