Dialysis-associated Steal Syndrome

  1. R. Deepa ✉

Abstract

Dialysis-associated steal syndrome (DASS) is a significant risk of recurring peripheral ischemia. Themain goal of treatment option is preserving the access site and improving peripheral arterialcirculation. It is diagnosed when there is hypoperfusion of the limb distal to the AV anastomosis; it iscommonly present in 1–8% of patients. It is most common in upper limb that patients witharteriosclerosis and diabetes are high risk. Surgical options will help to preserve the peripheral bloodsupply.
