  1. Rupali Pathania ✉

Abstract

Preconception care and counseling plays a vital role in improving perinatal morbidity and mortality. Nearly half of the 200 million pregnancies that occur annually are unintended. Preconception counseling targeted at the mother, father and family. As per report of WHO it shows that preconception care has a positive impact on maternal and child health outcomes.Having a safe, healthy and happy pregnancy begins well before positive result on a test. It is important to identify issues of concerns including overall well being, medical history, surgical risks, social and behavioral risk, medication risks, occupational risks, education risks and any other barriers that may pose an undue risk of fertility or pregnancy. Preconception care implementation strategy involves delivering intervention package and maximizing the gains for maternal and child health
