Acute Diffuse Peritonitis in a Pregnant Buffalo
Abstract: A non descriptive breed of buffalo with 8 months of gestation was referred to the clinic with clinical manifestations like anorexia, fever, stiff gait and oedema at inter mandible region, brisket and ventral abdomen. Animal exhibited tachycardia, tachypnoea, pain while deep palpation at ventral abdomen and a positive response to ferroscope examination. Haemato-biochemical analysis revealed anaemia, leucopaenia with degenerative shift to left, neutrophilia and elevated protein levels. Peritoneal fluid analysis …

Potential Probiotics – Pains and Gains: A Review
Abstract: Probiotics are living microorganisms that promote the health of the host by improving the microflora. Probiotic microorganism have become more and more widespread in the last 20 years as a results of the endlessly increasing scientific evidences that enlighten their helpful effects on human health. As a result, they need to be used as a food supplement. Recently, the contribution of probiotics to modulate immunologic, metabolic process, and gastro-intestinal (GI) …

Usage of Genetic Engineering Practices in Animal Breeding: A Review
Abstract: being used by scientists/researchers to transform the genetic material (DNA/RNA) of an organism, thereby, bringing the desired change in it. This can be achieved by using several techniques, such as, by transfection, using retroviral vectors, transposons, and knock-in and knock-out technology, etc. It has various applications in breeding of animals, which enables the production of genetically modified species that can be used to produce various novel proteins, which are useful …

Advancement of Poly-(ADP – Ribose) Polymerase (PARP) Inhibitors in Cancer Progression and Treatment
Abstract: DNA repair mechanisms are the most common and potential targets in cancer treatment. PARP enzymes play a crucial role in detection of DNA damage and its repair and also in apoptosis. Detailed knowledge of these mechanisms leads to the development of poly-(ADP-Ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors as vigorous anticancer drugs with specific action. PARP inhibitors can selectivity kill tumours with deficiencies in DNA repair proteins like BRCA1/2, exploiting synthetic lethality concept. …
