The Metallurgical Properties of Beryllium
Abstract: Beryllium is a toxic bivalent element, steel gray, strong, light-weight, primarily used as hardening agent in alloys. Beryllium has one of the highest melting points of the light metals. It has excellent thermal conductivity, is nonmagnetic, it resists attack by concentrated nitric acid and at standard temperature and pressures beryllium resist oxidation when expose to air. Relevance and Utilization of Copper and Copper Alloys
Abstract: Copper is the oldest metal used by man. It is use dates back to prehistoric times. Copper has been mined for more than 10,000 years with a Copper pendant found in current day Iraq being dated to 8700 BC. By 5000BC Copper was being smelted from simple copper oxides. The combination of physical properties such as strength, conductivity, corrosion resistance, machinability and ductility make Copper suitable for a wide range …

Role and Application of Aluminum Alloys
Abstract: Alloy wheels are wheels that are made from an alloy of aluminum or magnesium. Alloys are mixtures of metal and other elements. They generally provide greater strength over pure metals, which are usually much softer and more ductile. Aircraft manufacturers use high-strength alloys (principally alloy 7075) to strengthen aluminum aircraft structures. Aluminum alloy 7075 has Copper (1.6 %), Magnesium (2.5 %) and zinc (5.6 %) added for ultimate strength, but …

A Mini Review on Copper Nanoparticles
Abstract: The synthesis of metal nanoparticles is more important than ever. Copper has been recognized as a nontoxic, safe inorganic material, cheaper antibacterial/antifungal agent, and has high potential in a wide range of biological, catalytic and sensors applications more particularly in the form of nanoparticles. This resulted in the development of numerous methods for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles. As conventional methods like chemical and physical methods have several limitations so …

Potential Applications of Titanium Dioxide in Diverse Fields
Abstract: Metal oxide semiconductors, such as TiO2 nanoparticles are frequently used as photocatalyst due to non-toxicity, chemical stability, and the ability to possess relatively high photocatalytic activity of TiO2. Laboratory studies have demonstrated that organic compounds such as alcohols, carboxylic acid, phenolic derivatives, and chlorinated aromatics can be readily mineralized by TiO2 into harmless carbon dioxide, water and simple mineral acids, using molecular oxygen as the primary oxidant. Keywords: environmental pollution, …
