Optimization of Process Parameters of GMAW for Penetration, Toughness and Tensile Strength by using Taguchi Method
Abstract: Aluminum and its alloys are having variety of applications in Aircraft, food processing etc. Moreover; the use of Aluminum and its alloys are increasing day by day due to its specific properties, like light weight, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. However; the present study is planned to analyze and optimize the aluminum weld joint characteristics like tensile strength, penetration and toughness by using Gas Metal arc welding (GMAW) welding. …

Solar passive building cooling - Recent trends and novel approaches
Abstract: Global warming is one of the major threats that mankind faces in the 21th century. About 40% of global energy consumption and Green House Gas (GHG) emissions are accounted by buildings and they play a vital role in global warming. Estimates show that their damaging influence will grow by 1.8% per year through 2050, which specifies that future usage and emissions will be worse than today. Therefore, the necessity of …

Effect of Burr Height in Drilling Low Carbon Steels for Different Drill Point Angles
Abstract: In the present work low carbon steel have been used to observe the burr height at the exit end of the workpiece of a drilled hole under different machining conditions. Three uncoated 12 mm diameter HSS twist drills are used. These drills have different drill point angles, i.e., 118°, 100°, 80°. All the experiments are carried out on a CNC milling machine with and without the application of coolant. Cutting …

CFD Analysis on Exhaust System of a Car
Abstract: The pollution and global warming is due to air pollution. It is to be noted that air pollution is mainly caused by the toxic gases from the exhaust of the automobiles. Only 30% of the fuel is converted into energy source to run the engine remaining 70% of fuel is of un-burnt hydrocarbon, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. From modified catalytic converter, noise level will decrease. Here, the performance of …

Thermodynamic Analysis of Hybrid-SOFC Gas Turbine Powered by Syngas from Municipal Solid Waste
Abstract: In this paper, the use of renewable energy sources with conventional energy systems is described in the context of a hybrid solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) gas turbine system which is powered by syngas produced from the gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW). MSW deposits are increasing every day and their disposal measures are not completely effective in recycling them for various purposes in different forms. Here a gas turbine …
