Denoising of Computer Tomography images using Wavelet based Multiple Thresholds Switching (WMTS) filter
Abstract: Computer Topography images are often corrupted by salt and pepper noise during image acquisition and /or transmission, reconstruction due to a number of non-idealities encountered in image sensors and communication channels. Noise is considered to be the number one limiting factor of CT image quality. A novel decision-based filter, called the wavelet based multiple thresholds switching (WMTS) filter, is used to restore images corrupted by salt-pepper impulse noise. The filter …

A Star Shape Wideband Antenna for Microwave Energy Harvesting
Abstract: The paper proposes a Wideband star shape Microstrip Antenna, with particularly intended to wide bandwidth, small size for utilizing in microwave energy harvesting system. The antenna simulated with half ground is having a lower VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) of 1.1 at a design frequency of 3.55 GHz, and a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of 3.267GHz achieved. The structure of antenna is finally decided after analyzing various dimensional effects on bandwidth, …

Effects of Introducing Slots in Rectenna
Abstract: Wireless power is turning out to be a promising technology in near future. This would not only be an alternative to batteries and wired supply, but also protect our environment from the harmful effects of batteries. In this paper analysis of introducing slots in the rectenna is studied. An experimental RF energy harvesting system to transmit wireless powers using microwaves is designed and then effects of slot loading on the …

NOVEL TECHNIQUES FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS (WSN)
Abstract: The rapid growth of wireless services in recent years is an indication that considerable value is placed on wireless networks. Wireless devices have most utility when they can be used anywhere at any time. Yet one of the greatest challenges is limited energy supply. In the recent years, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has gained good attention from both the research community and actual users. As sensor nodes are generally battery-energized …
