Hydrodynamic Modeling for contaminant spills Case study: Nile River - Upper Egypt
Abstract: Most watercourses are subjected to the threats of contaminant spills. The Nile River is the main drinking and irrigation water source for all Egyptian cities around its banks, especially in Upper Egypt. The southern reach receives considerable amounts of agricultural, industrial and municipal wastes at different sites along its mainstream. The goal of this research is to simulate contaminant spill in the studied part of the Nile River to determine …

DRIP IRRIGATION BY RECYCLING WASTEWATER
Abstract: Drip irrigation allows water to drip slowly to the roots of plants thus saving water, nutrients and minimizing evaporation. This study focusses on treatment of contaminated water by reducing biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), eutrophication of water bodies and further using it for drip irrigation.

Challenges in implementing an Opportunistic Adaptation approach in Bangkok
Abstract: The 2011 floods should have been a wake-up call for Bangkok, yet the question is what the situation is now, eight years later. Did this disaster cause a change in our attitude to climate change or not? Opportunistic adaptation (OA) is a tool used in urban planning, designed to help stakeholders share a common vision of what/when/where can happen in the future, given uncertain conditions like, e.g., climate change. The …

DETERMINATION OF MEAN VELOCITY OF FLOW USING FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD
Abstract: The objective of the study is to establish the optimal method for determination of Mean velocity of flow. The values of hydraulic parameters such as Channel slope, Discharge of flow, Mean depth of flow and Mean velocity of flow are obtained in laboratory observations. And the value of mean velocity of flow is obtained using the finite difference method. The comparative analysis is done between the theoretical and practical observations …

Influence of land use changes on Urban flooding - Case study of Bangalore city, India
Abstract: In past few years, Bangalore city is facing the flood disasters frequently during monsoon seasons. The land use change study is carried out for the most flood prone watersheds in the city for the years 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2018. Google earth image is used to investigate the land use changes using Google pro tool. The study has showed an increasing imperviousness in the study area of Koramangal-Chellaghatta …
