Abstract

Bauhinia variegata is explored for its potential in the green synthesis of ZnO NPs, benefiting from its rich phytochemical profile including flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, and glycosides. The plant’s extracts serve as effective reducing and capping agents in nanoparticle synthesis, contributing to biocompatibility and environmental safety. ZnO nanoparticles synthesized via green approaches have demonstrated significant antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti- inflammatory activities, making them suitable for applications in healthcare, particularly in antimicrobial soaps and cosmetic formulations. This review also discusses the formulation of nanoparticle-drenched cleansers, highlighting their superior antimicrobial efficacy, environmental benefits, and potential applications in personal care and industrial sanitation.

Despite their promising applications, ZnO NPs face limitations such as potential toxicity, environmental persistence, aggregation, and challenges in achieving uniform synthesis. Nonetheless, advancements in green synthesis, coupled with a growing emphasis on sustainability, position ZnO NPs as key materials for future innovations. The review concludes by addressing the future scope of ZnO NPs and herbal soaps, advocating for scalable green synthesis methods and personalized herbal formulations to meet the increasing demand for natural, eco-friendly products in healthcare and skincare industries.

Keywords: Bauhinia variegata, Anti inflammatory, Antimicrobial efficacy, Nanoparticle- drenched cleanser, Antimicrobial soaps, Eco- friendly products.
