Abstract

The rapid advancements on the Internet of Things (IoT) have revolutionized agriculture by integrating sensors, automation, and data analytics to enhance productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability. With growing challenges such as climate change, population growth, and the need for efficient resource management, IoT-driven smart agriculture presents a transformative approach to modern farming. By leveraging IoT-enabled devices, farmers can gain real-time insights into soil conditions, weather patterns, crop health, and resource usage, leading to optimized operations and informed decision-making. Moreover, the fusion of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) with IoT boosts agricultural efficiency via predictive maintenance, early disease identification, and autonomous operation of farming machinery. These technologies aid sustainable agriculture by minimizing waste, enhancing resource distribution, and guaranteeing food security. Nonetheless, the broad adoption of this technology confronts obstacles, including significant implementation expenses, worries about data security, and connectivity issues in rural regions. This study offers a thorough examination of IoT-based smart agriculture, delving into its current trends, uses, challenges, and future potential. IoT can transform agricultural practices and enhance the intelligence, efficiency, and sustainability of farming for the future by overcoming current obstacles.
