Background of the Study: A study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of an information booklet on knowledge regarding complementary and alternative therapy (CAM) for minor disorders during pregnancy among final-year B.Sc. Nursing students in selected nursing colleges in Bengaluru. This study was undertaken as part of the fulfillment of the requirements for the Doctorate in Management Studies at IIBMS, Mumbai. Objectives: (1) To assess the knowledge regarding complementary and alternative therapies for minor disorders during pregnancy among final-year B.Sc. Nursing students. (2) To evaluate the effectiveness of an information booklet on the same topic. (3) To determine the association between posttest knowledge scores and selected demographic variables. Methodology: An evaluative research approach with a one-group pretest and posttest design was used. A purposive sample of 60 final-year B.Sc. Nursing students from selected nursing colleges in Bengaluru was chosen. A structured knowledge questionnaire was used to collect data. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Results: The mean pretest knowledge score was 51.4%, which increased to 85.0% in the posttest. The paired “t” test value was 29.29, which was statistically significant at the 0.05 level. A significant association was found between the posttest knowledge scores and selected demographic variables such as age, sex, religion, type of family, academic performance, place of residence, family history of minor disorders during pregnancy, prior knowledge of CAM, and sources of information. Thus, the research hypothesis was accepted. Interpretation and Conclusion: The findings indicate a substantial improvement in knowledge following the administration of the information booklet. The pretest revealed limited knowledge, while the posttest demonstrated a marked increase, establishing the effectiveness of the information booklet in enhancing awareness and understanding of CAM therapies for minor pregnancy-related disorders among final-year nursing students.
