Renewable energy plays a crucial role in mitigating climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting sustainable development. This research explores how renewable energy sources like solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal can substantially decrease dependence on fossil fuels, the primary contributors to carbon emissions. Not only does transition to renewable energy cut down the rising global temperatures, but also helps achieve energy security, reduce air pollution and generate economic benefits through creation of jobs in the green sector. Renewable energy technologies key to decarbonizing power; innovations in energy storage and grid management improve energy reliability. Renewable energy uptake helps to mitigate negative health effects of air pollution and contribute to meeting global climate goals underlying agreements like the Paris Accord. Using quantitative data on emissions reduction, energy efficiency improvements and economic benefits from the countries that are implementing substantial renewable energy strategies, this paper provides analysis.
