Intelligent communication networks have become a fundamental component of modern telematics and telemetry systems, enabling reliable, real-time, and data-driven communication across various industrial, transportation, healthcare, and environmental monitoring applications. The rapid growth of wireless communication technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence has significantly enhanced the efficiency, scalability, and adaptability of telematics and telemetry infrastructures. This review paper presents a comprehensive analysis of recent developments in intelligent communication networks designed for telematics and telemetry applications. The study examines the integration of advanced networking technologies such as 5G communication, wireless sensor networks, satellite communication, optical fiber systems, and machine-to- machine communication for efficient data transmission and remote monitoring. It also discusses important communication protocols, network architectures, signal processing methods, and quality-of-service mechanisms that support reliable and secure information exchange. In addition, the paper highlights the role of intelligent traffic management, vehicle tracking systems, industrial automation, smart healthcare monitoring, and environmental sensing applications in modern communication ecosystems. Security, privacy protection, bandwidth optimization, latency reduction, and energy-efficient communication strategies are also reviewed as critical challenges in large-scale telematics and telemetry deployments. Furthermore, the paper outlines emerging research trends involving AI-enabled network management, edge computing, and next-generation intelligent communication systems. The review concludes that intelligent communication networks will continue to play a vital role in enabling smart, secure, and highly connected telematics and telemetry applications in future digital environments.
