Assessment of Tensile and Hardness Property of AA5083/Nano-Al2O3 Metal Matrix Composites
Abstract: Al–Mg base composites reinforced with different mixtures of nano-Al2O3 particles have been fabricated by mechanical stir casting and their metallurgical and mechanical characterization has been investigated. In this investigation, the Al2O3 particulates were reinforced into the base matrix of aluminium fabricated with five levels of volume fraction such as Al/0 vol.% Al2O3, Al/2 vol.% Al2O3, Al/4 vol.% Al2O3, Al/6 vol.% Al2O3 and Al/8 vol.% Al2O3. After the Al-base-nano-composites were fabricated …

Experimental evaluation of dc Conductivity of Rice Husk Reinforced Polypropylene Composites with addition of cenosphere
Abstract: Insulating materials are used in electrical power circuits to prevent leakages of current. Main objective of this study is to evaluate the dc conductivity of rice husk filled polypropylene composites with and without cenosphere. The conductivity at room temperature was found to decreases from 2.64e-13 to 9.371e-14 S cm-1 with the addition of cenosphere. Dense packing of the material, collapse of pores and decreases in air gap between the rice …

Effect of Fly Ash Cenosphere on Electric Properties of Polypropylene
Abstract: Present work deals with findings on electrical properties of cenosphere filled polypropylene composites. Frequency dependence of the dielectric constant (ε’) of the composite samples was carried out at ambient temperature. A theoretical model is proposed for the electrical conductivity of porous polypropylene/cenosphere composites. Role of addition of these cenosphere particles on electrical properties such as dielectric constant, tanδ, dc conductivity and ac conductivity were investigated. Increase of fly ash cenosphere …

An Efficient and Simple Higher Order of Shear Deformation Theory for Static and Free Vibration of Laminated Composite Plates
Abstract: In the present study, the static and free vibration of laminated composite plates is examined by using a refined shear deformation theory and developed for a bending analysis of orthotropic laminated composite plates. These models take into account the parabolic distribution of transverse shear stresses and satisfy the condition of zero shear stresses on the top and bottom surfaces of the plates. The most interesting feature of this theory is …

3D printing of polymers by fused deposition modeling (FDM): filament ink to composite materials
Abstract: 3D printing technology has gained significant attention for its rapid manufacturing of on-demand customized objects from digital computer-aided design (CAD) model without need molds or machining. Polymers are the most utilize a class of commercial materials in additive manufacturing (AM) because of excellent physico-mechanical properties with desired objects. Fused deposition modeling is the filament based printing process which most widely popular for commercial thermoplastics polymer than other manufacturing techniques because …
