A Microstrip Rat-Race Coupler for Narrow-Band Operation in the X-Band
Abstract: This paper proposes, designs, describes, analyses, and simulates a novel microstrip rat-race coupler for narrow-band operations in the X-band (8 GHz to 12 GHz), namely the 9.5 GHz to 10.3 GHz sub-band. This proposed four-port passive microwave device was realized utilizing microstrip technology with pure copper (lossy) being used as a metal in the conducting layers (transmission and ground plates) and Rogers TMM6 (lossy) being used in the dielectric layer. …

Ferromagnetism in Rare Earth Metal Doped ZnO: A Theoretical Approach
Abstract: The ferromagnetic properties of Diluted Magnetic semiconductor, Zn1−xDyxO is studied from theoretical point of view. The Heisenberg’s and Greens theorem determine the Hamiltonian of the system. The interaction between the nearest neighboring spin is determined by retarded Greens function. By using Greens theory, defect-induced ferromagnetism is discussed. For the ferromagnetic states, the expected exchange integral is positive and negative for the antiferromagnetic states. In addition, from magnetic property, the temperature …

Effect of Sulphamic acid on the growth of Glycine single crystals
Abstract: Sulphamic acid added glycine single crystals were grown successfully by slow-evaporation technique.A single crystal with well defined crystal was obtained. The lattice parameters and crystal system of the grown crystals were confirmed by single crystal and powder x-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups present in the sample were identified by FTIR spectral analysis. The lower cut off wavelength and bandgap energy of the grown crystal was analysed from uv-vis spectral analysis. Synthesis of White Light Emitting Water-soluble CdZnS Quantum Dots at Room Temperature
Abstract: Water-soluble alloyed CdZnS quantum dots (QDs) have been successfully prepared at room temperatures by reacting a mixture of Cd(CH3COO)2 and Zn(CH3COO)2 with Na2S using thiolactic acid (TLA) as a surface capping agent. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of the alloyed QDs are determined on the basis of the Cd2+/Zn2+ molar ratio, reaction pH, intrinsic Cd2+and Zn2+reactivities toward Na2S and the concentration of capping agent. A systematic blue shift in emission wavelength …

Ferromagnetism in II-VI Diluted Magnetic Semiconductor, Zn0.96Mn0.04O Nanostructures by Green’s Theorem
Abstract: Ferromagnetism in II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductor, Zn0.96Mn0.04O is studied. Using the Heisenberg principle, the spin exchange between the neighboring spin is discussed. Heisenberg’s model describes the Hamiltonian of the system in terms of spin density and excitons. Mathematically, magnetic parameters such as magnetizations and magnetic susceptibility are determined by Green’s function. Ferromagnetism is expected from sp-d exchange interactions (RKKY), point defects such as oxygen vacancies, and Zn interstitial and quantum …

Blue Shift of Sol-gel Synthesized ZnO Nano-particles: Size Dependent Quantum Confinement Effect
Abstract: Zinc oxide nano-crystals with different size and shape were synthesized by sol-gel technique at 90°C. ZnO nano-particles show (100), (002), (101), (102), (110), and (103) crystalline orientation and strong band-edge emission at 408 nm. Grain size of ZnO nano-crystals varies from 4 nm to 20 nm due to variation of molar ratio of polyethylene glycol with zinc acetate during synthesis. ZnO nano-materials with grain size 4 nm and 8 nm …
