Sustainable Cementitious Composites withEpoxy–Alccofine Synergy
Abstract: This research examines the combined influence of epoxy resin and Alccofine when used as partial substitutes for cement in producing sustainable, high-performance concrete. The study aims to improve both strength and durability properties while simultaneously reducing cement usage and its environmental impact. Concrete mixes were prepared with epoxy resin contents of 0%, 5%, and 10% by weight of cement, along with Alccofine replacement levels of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The …

Green Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Studies of Ni(II) and Cu(II) Schiff Base Complexes
Abstract: Solvent-assisted mechanochemical reaction was used to synthesize new transition metal complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) with Schiff base ligand (H2L) obtained from condensation of 2-hydroxy-1- napthaldehyde with 2 aminobenzimidazole. Melting point/decomposition temperature, solubility test, FT-IR, powder x-ray analysis, conductivity measurement, magnetic susceptibility, elemental microanalysis, and UV/VIS spectral investigations were used to characterize the Schiff base and complexes. The complexes are of varied colours and have sharp melting points, and they …

In Vitro Evaluation of Bioremediation Capacity of a Commercial Probiotic, Bacillus clausii, for Chromium (VI) and Lead (II) Toxicity
Abstract: Heavy metals cause disastrous effects on any living organisms. Probiotics have the ability to reduce metal toxicity. Commercial probiotics having bioremediation capacity can use these bacteria as an alternative to conventional remediation methods. The bioaccumulation of heavy metals including chromium (VI) (Cr [VI]) and lead (II) (Pb [II]) causes fatal toxicity in humans. Some naturally occurring bacterial species, such as Bacillus and Pseudomonas, contribute their role in bioremediation of these …

Comparative Acoustical and Viscometric Study Of L-Alanine And L-Arginine in Aqueous Glycerol Medium: Effect of Side Chain Polarity and Charge On Molecular Interactions
Abstract: The acoustical and viscometric properties of L-Alanine (neutral, nonpolar) and L-Arginine (basic, charged) in 10% aqueous glycerol have been investigated over a concentration range of 0.01 to 0.1 mol·kg⁻¹ at temperatures T = 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, and 318.15 K under atmospheric pressure. Experimental measurements of ultrasonic velocity (µ), density (ρ), and viscosity (η) have been used to derive adiabatic compressibility (), apparent molar volume (Φv), partial molar volume …
