Design And Finite Element Analysis Of RCC And Timber-Composite RCC Columns with Seismic Effect
Abstract: This study presents the design and finite-element analysis (FEM) of three reinforced cement concrete (RCC) column configurations under seismic effect, with the objective of quantifying how a central Sal-timber core alters the structural performance of an otherwise conventional RCC column. All three columns are of identical external size (300 × 300 mm) and clear height 3.0 m, fixed at both ends, and use M30 concrete, Fe500 steel, 4–16 mm φ …

Numerical Study of Vibration Stress and Deformation of Rotating Fan Blade of a Gas Turbine
Abstract: The vibration stress caused by resonance is the main cause of failure in aircraft engine blades. The study is aimed at investigating the vibration stress of a single-stage fan blade influenced by the interaction of aerodynamic and structural behavior at multiple critical speeds. A three-dimensional finite element model of the blade was developed for the simulation of vibration stress and its subsequent effects. The blade was verified by modal test. …

Hybrid ABS & CF-ABS FDM Printing Tensile Components: A Comprehensive Review and a Novel Taguchi–FEA Based Methodology Framework for Mechanical Optimization
Abstract: Abstract An experimental–numerical strategy and a critical literature survey were addressed to tackle the tensile response of hybrid Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Carbon Fiber–reinforced ABS (CF-ABS) parts manufactured by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). The study employed a systematic literature synthesis to identify material challenges, reinforcement compromises and important process parameters that impact anisotropy as well as interlayer bonding. Dual-material tensile samples based on an Automatic Material System (AMS) printer …

A Model for Plastic-Hydrolytic Damage Bioresorbable Polymer Composites
Abstract: This paper explains and assesses a recently developed constitutive model for elastic-damage that may sustain plastic-hydrolytic damage. When a metallic material is subjected to plastic strain, voids and microcracks in the metal matrix start to form, develop, and merge. This is what causes ductilitydegradation in metals. Only a few of the many models that have been presented to depict ductile failure have done a thorough analysis of the entire damage …
