SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERISATION OF NATURAL FIBRE REINFORCED EPOXY COMPOSITES BASED ON SESAME OIL
Abstract: ABSTRACT Epoxy sheet and its composites were obtained by epoxidised resin and coir fibres respectively. Epoxidisedresin were prepared by condensing sesame oil using hydrogen peroxide and glacial acetic acid as catalyst. The resin was characterisedby spectral studies such as FT-IR and Solvent Absorptivity Percentage of Epoxy Resin and its Composites. The epoxy composites have higher solvent absorptivity percentage in the solvents when compared to that of epoxy resin. The epoxy composites …

Cellulose: A Natural Polymer on the Earth
Abstract: Cellulose is the substance that makes up most of a plant's cell walls. Since it is made by all plants, it is probably the most abundant organic compound on Earth. Aside from being the primary building material for plants, cellulose has many others uses. According to how it is treated, cellulose can be used to make paper, film, explosives, and plastics, in addition to having many other industrial uses. The …

Synthesis of Brominated Poly (Isobutylene-co-Isoprene) Based Ionomers and Its Applications
Abstract: Reactive bromobutyl rubber and its modification have been studied in detail. These reactive bromobutyl rubber was converted to ammonium and phosphonium functionalized bromobutyl rubber using triphenyl phosphine (PPh3) and 4-Dimethylaminopyridine (4-DMAP). Mechanical properties of synthesized ionomers are found comparative with butyl rubber. Pharma stopper was made from synthesized phosphonium ionomer that may be useful for pharma industries due to its self-healing characteristics which can help to preserve the properties of …

Free Vibration Analysis of Laminated Composite Plate with Various Boundary Condition Using FEM
Abstract: The vibration analysis of laminated composite plates is analyzed using finite element method. A suitable finite element model is proposed and developed based on first order shear deformation theory using ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) code. The model has been developed using an appropriate eight node isoparametric element (SHELL281) from the ANSYS element library. In this paper Numerical results have been computed for the effect of material properties, thickness ratio …

Stabilization of Landslide Affected Soil Using Silica Fume Glass Fiber Powder and Sodium Silicate
Abstract: Highly swelling soils are present in many parts of Tamil Nadu and they are highly problematic in utilizing for the structural purpose. Numerous studies were conducted using several materials for stabilizing them; through literature study it’s found that a single material such as lime or cement is not suitable for stabilizing the concerned soil owing to several bottlenecks. In this study we had made an elaborate attempt to utilize manufactured …

Literature Review on Overcoming Graphene Dispersion Challenges in Ultra High Performance Concrete: A Review of Self-Dispersion and Bio-Polymer Encapsulation Strategies
Abstract: Abstract—Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new generation of cement-based material because of its higher compressive and tensile strength, increased durability, and higher resistance to environmental degradation. However, UHPC undergoes microcracking when subjected to mechanical and thermal loading, which can jeopardize the long-term performance of the structure, decrease service life, and cause expensive maintenance. Traditional solutions to enhance UHPC durability are centered on material densification and fiber strengthening, while these treatments …

Biopolymers in Medical Application: A Study
Abstract: Biopolymers – naturally derived macromolecules, such as polysaccharides, proteins, and polyhydroxyalkanoates – have emerged as a versatile toolbox for next-generation medical technologies. Their intrinsic biocompatibility, tunable degradation kinetics, and capacity for molecular functionalization enable the design of devices that communicate with living tissue rather than merely coexist with it. This review synthesizes recent advances across four inter-related fronts: (i) drug-delivery carriers, where chitosan-based nanoparticles and hyaluronic-acid hydrogels provide stimulus-responsive release …
