Micromechanical Analysis of Compaction and Drilling of Granular Media- A Review
Abstract: Granular matter is ubiquitous in our daily life yet far from completely understood. These granular materials have constituted a class of complex systems which exhibit global behaviors been reminiscent of solids, liquids, gases, or otherwise uniquely their own. The key to achieve good properties lies in the material structure from the molecules, via structures on nano- and micro levels to the macroscopic material. This paper also reviewed selected approaches and …

Comparative Study of Corrosion Inhibition In Carbon Steel Using Non Ionic Surfactants In Acidic Medium
Abstract: The use of surfactants is one of the numerous ways of protecting a metallic surface from electrochemical oxidation or corrosion. The amphiphilic nature of these surfactants leads to the formation of a protective layer on the metallic surface, effectively minimizing the area of contact between the fluids and the metal, thus inhibiting corrosion. Cationic surfactant like CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) has been most commonly used as a corrosion inhibitor, but since …

Abstract: Electrodeposition of chromium from hexavalent chromium ion is very toxic, carcinogenic, not environmentally benign, cathodic efficiency is low, and the quality of coating is very poor (due to H2 evolution). Ambient temperature Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) can be formed by reacting choline chloride (HOC2H4 (CH3)3Cl) with metal salts. These low cost DES are not sensitive to air and moisture and have good electro-conductivity and they do not have vapour pressure. …
