Literature Review on Overcoming Graphene Dispersion Challenges in Ultra High Performance Concrete: A Review of Self-Dispersion and Bio-Polymer Encapsulation Strategies
Abstract: Abstract—Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new generation of cement-based material because of its higher compressive and tensile strength, increased durability, and higher resistance to environmental degradation. However, UHPC undergoes microcracking when subjected to mechanical and thermal loading, which can jeopardize the long-term performance of the structure, decrease service life, and cause expensive maintenance. Traditional solutions to enhance UHPC durability are centered on material densification and fiber strengthening, while these treatments …

Fracture and Failure of Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC) – A Review
Abstract: In the world, many countries put into effect the renewal plans and/or the laws and/or the regulations for recent engineering structures which have reached their lifetime, are risk prone and have been built lacking quality engineering, or without considering urban planning. Hence, many structures are demolished and this situation increases the amount of construction and demolition waste (C & DW). Also, resource consumptions are rapidly increased due to excessive constructional …

Re-Characterization of Strength Properties of Asphalt Concrete Mixtures Using Non Bituminous Modifier – Candle Wax
Abstract: Improving the performance of asphalt concrete mixtures synonymous with flexible pavement has been a major concern in highway engineering. However, design of flexible pavement begins with proper material characterization to ensure that designs are appropriate. It is also pertinent to say that sometimes if not most times the properties of the individual materials that make up the pavement structure falls short of desired expectations. This has led to exploring techniques …
