Finite Element Analysis(FEA) of a sandwich panel with hexagonal honeycomb core under tensile load
Abstract: Composite sandwich panels have been increasingly used in aerospace industry for various applications such as floor panels, comportment partitions, bulkheads, and even the skin and wings. It is important to design light weight structure for aircraft operations. The sandwich panel serves this requirement. The sandwich composites are multilayered materials made by bonding stiff, high strength skin facings to low density core material. In the present research work composites sandwich panel …

Self-healing Polymer Nanocomposites study using filler effect
Abstract: Polymers, while versatile, often lack the desired mechanical strength, thermal stability, or barrierproperties for high-performance applications. This limitation is elegantly addressed bycreating polymer nanocomposites. These materials are formed by incorporating small amounts(typically 1-5 wt%) of nanoscale fillers (e.g., carbon nanotubes, graphene, silica, clay, metaloxide nanoparticles) into a polymer matrix. The magic of nanocomposites lies in the incrediblyhigh surface area-to-volume ratio of the nanoparticles and their unique interactions with thepolymer chains. …

Optimisation of Ratio of Center Distance of Adjacent Hole to Diameter of Pre-stressed Holes by FEA
Abstract: Residual compressive stress zone around a fastener hole is introduced by a process called pre-stressing. This is being done to reduce adverse effect of cyclic tensile stress and to restrict the fatigue crack growth due to material flaws or imperfect surfaces. The objective of this investigation is to optimize the inter-hole distance between adjacent cold expanded holes on a plate restricting the deformation of material between holes to the elastic …

Plant-Drive Natural Fiber Reinforced ThermoplasticComposites by Film Stacking Method
Abstract: Fiber reinforced polymer composites have a long history of being significant in a variety of applications because of their exceptional specific strength and modulus. An alternative to synthetic polymers that pollute the environment is provided by thermoplastic and vetiver fiber (VF) composites. In comparison to conventional reinforcing fibers (glass and carbon fiber), natural fibers (such as banana, sisal, coir, jute, vetiver, flax, hemp, and kenaf) have the following benefits: they …
