A Brief Discussion on Plastic Wastes Sortation Procedures
Abstract: Recycling plastic is the procedure of retrieving waste plastic products and reprocessing the material into similar or sometimes completely different form of products. As an example, melting down soft drink bottles, boxes and then casting them as plastic chairs and tables. According to the ImpEE project of University of Cambridge, 3 million tonnes of waste plastic were produced a year (2005) in UK and among those 21.3% are produced from …

Investigation of the Compatibility of Binary and Ternary Polymer Systems
Abstract: We have obtained mechanical strength of materials as a result not by synthesizing new polymers, but by using industrial polymers. We have developed a technology for obtaining new composite materials based on industrial multi-tonnage polymers of high-strength polyethylene (HSPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane thermoplastic elastomer (DUTEP), butyl rubber (BR), chlorocarboxylate polyethylene (CCPE), ethylene propylene rubber (EPR). To obtain a composition from these polymers, their mixture compatibility was first determined using …

The Improvement of Polyvinyl Chloride Synthesis Using Different Approaches
Abstract: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is produced by the polymerization of the vinyl chloride monomer either by direct chlorination of olefins or by addition of hydrogen chloride to acetylene. The polymerization conditions are: heat, peroxides or oxidizing agents with basic structure as -CH2CHCl.CHCl-CH2.CHCl-. Polyvinyl chloride is a thermoplastic and its plasticity can be increased by incorporating ‘plasticizers’ of relatively low molecular weight organic materials during molding or extrusion. PVC has high hardness …

Novel Process for the Synthesis of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride Using Unsaturated Polyvinyl Chloride Resin
Abstract: The present work is related to the process for the synthesis of a reactor made chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) from commercially available thermally treated unsaturated PVC. The synthesis of CPVC is a two-step process. The first step is the controlled thermal treatment of the PVC to generate the unsaturation in the PVC chain. The second step is the chlorination of the thermally treated PVC in presence of an initiator and …

Methods for Obtaining Ozone-Resistant Rubber Based on Elastomers
Abstract: Technical Rubber products are one of the main products with the widest range of uses today. To expand the scope of RTM use, it is necessary to increase its varieties. The most demanded rubber products are rubber products with high mechanical strength in contact with ozone. In this work, several polymer mixtures were used to obtain ozone-resistant rubber products. For this purpose, ethylene propylene terpolymer, polyvinyl chloride, and butadiene-nitrile rubber …
