Abstract

Childhood anxiety, behavioral disorders, and emotional disturbances represent a growing global public health concern, significantly affecting children’s developmental trajectories, academic performance, and social functioning. These conditions, including anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and mood-related disturbances, require early identification and multidisciplinary management. Pediatric nurses play a pivotal role in addressing these challenges through assessment, therapeutic interventions, family education, and psychosocial support. Their involvement spans across preventive, curative, and rehabilitative domains, contributing to improved emotional well-being and long-term outcomes in children. This article reviews current literature from the last decade, focusing on pediatric nursing interventions in managing childhood mental health conditions. It highlights evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, family-centered care, school-based interventions, and technological approaches. The findings emphasize the importance of strengthening pediatric nursing competencies, integrating mental health services into primary care, and promoting holistic, child-centered approaches to enhance emotional resilience and behavioral outcomes.
