One of the main causes of death around the globe, especially for young people, is traffic accidents. One of the primary risk factors for road traffic safety is excessive speed, which raises the likelihood of accidents and diminishes their severity. This study presents experimental studies on how the allocation of traffic calming measures affects vehicle speed. In some areas of the road, it is crucial to regulate vehicle speed. Static control devices, sometimes referred to as traffic calming measures, are one method of regulating speed. They make crossing the road uncomfortable while lowering vehicle speeds and improving safety. For determining the time travelled between two points, the data is gathered using a video camera and the MPC-HC player analyses the video.. In our research work we have collected the literature from various journals, and the traffic speed data is collected at locations with barricades and without barricades. The spot speeds are compared and effectiveness of barricades is studied. The percentage change in the maximum speed limit in the presence of barricade to that of without barricade is 41.03% towards Machilipatnam and 22.08% towards Gudivada. The traffic calming measure of using barricades to control speeding vehicles is effective and the maximum speed on the SH28 at bommuluru reduced by 31.56%.
