Tracheostomy is one of the essential procedure for the patients admitted with respiratory problems, and nursing students play a vital role in management and delivering of effective care for such patients. The goal of this study is to assess the effectiveness of an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) intervention for fourth-semester nursing students, as many students lack sufficient knowledge in managing patients with tracheostomies. This research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. Fifty fourth-semester students were selected through non-probability purposive sampling. A series of multiple-choice and short-answer questions were created to assess the participants’ theoretical knowledge of tracheostomy care, including its indications, complications, and interventions. In the pretest, most participants (26 or 52%) exhibited average knowledge, 14 (28%) had good knowledge, and 12 (24%) showed poor knowledge. After the intervention, the posttest results revealed that 42 participants (84%) displayed good knowledge, 8 (16%) had average knowledge, and none showed poor knowledge. It can be found that IEC programme conducted for 4 th semester nursing students found to be effective for improving the knowledge of students.
