Hypertension and elevated blood sugar are two major chronic conditions that frequently coexist and significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular complications and other long-term health issues. Effective management of these conditions requires not only medical treatment but also adequate patient awareness and consistent adherence to prescribed therapies and lifestyle modifications. This study aims to assess the level of awareness and treatment adherence among patients diagnosed with hypertension and elevated blood sugar. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among adult patients attending healthcare facilities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that evaluated participants’ knowledge of their condition, understanding of risk factors, medication adherence, and lifestyle practices such as diet, physical activity, and regular health monitoring. The findings indicate that while a proportion of patients had basic knowledge about hypertension and blood sugar control, significant gaps existed in understanding disease complications and the importance of long-term adherence to treatment. Moreover, adherence to medication and recommended lifestyle changes was found to be inconsistent, influenced by factors such as lack of education, forgetfulness, financial constraints, and limited access to healthcare resources. The study highlights the need for targeted health education programs and continuous patient counseling to improve awareness and promote better adherence behaviors. In conclusion, enhancing patient awareness and strengthening adherence strategies are essential steps toward effective management of hypertension and elevated blood sugar, ultimately reducing the burden of associated complications and improving quality of life.
