Health is defined by the body’s normal functioning capacity and the lack of illness or impairment. Leading a sedentary lifestyle elevates the likelihood of encountering numerous cardiovascular conditions. Exercise represents a consistent form of activity designed to enhance one’s physical condition. Through consistent exercise, people can maintain a healthy heart function. Objective: To assess the level of cardiovascular endurance among college students and to associate the level of cardiovascular endurance with selected demographic variables. Materials and methods: A descriptive study was used for the study. This study was executed on 184 students. The students were assessed for any exclusion criteria to perform the step test by Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. The modified Harvard Step Test was used to find the level of cardiovascular endurance and scores compared with the physical fitness index chart to categorize the participants and determine their level of cardiovascular endurance. The Chi-square test was employed to determine the relationship between cardiovascular endurance and chosen demographic variables. Result: Among the 184 students studied for cardiovascular endurance 51% had poor, 42.% had low average, 4% had average, 1% had good and only 1% had excellent cardiovascular endurance. Interpretation and conclusion: The study’s results revealed that inadequate cardiovascular fitness stems from insufficient physical activity and sedentary habits, underscoring the need for culturally tailored strategies to help young individuals adopt sustainable changes in their exercise behaviours.
