Background : Caesarean delivery can lead to complications such as post-surgical pain, infection, pelvic muscle weakness, and maternal stress. Peripheral neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) exercises help improve muscle coordination, enhance strength, and relieve pain. Benson’s relaxation therapy, a form of meditation or breathing exercise, is effective in alleviating post-Caesarean pain and mental stress. Aim : The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Pelvic Floor “Drop” exercise and Benson’s Relaxation Technique in reducing post-Caesarean pain and maternal stress. These interventions are aimed at improving physical and mental well-being during the postpartum recovery period. Methodology : This case study involves a 28-year-old female post-Caesarean section patient, selected from the postnatal gynaecology ward based on inclusion criteria. The interventions of Pelvic Floor Drop and Benson’s Relaxation Therapy were applied, and pain and stress levels were assessed using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) on Day 0, Day 3, and Day 6 of the study. Comparison and analysis of pre- and post-intervention values were conducted through graphical representation. For data analysis, a T-test was conducted, yielding statistically significant results with a p-value of <0.05. Result : The findings of the study indicate a reduction in both post-Caesarean pain and maternal stress following the interventions. The use of Pelvic Floor Drop and Benson’s Relaxation Therapy contributed to noticeable improvements in the patient’s pain and stress levels over the course of the study. Conclusion : This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the interventions in reducing post-Caesarean pain and maternal stress. Therefore, Pelvic Floor Drop and Benson’s Relaxation Therapy present viable non-pharmacological treatment options for managing post-Caesarean pain and stress.
