Abstract
This study seeks to assess the knowledge and attitudes of primary school teachers about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in chosen schools within Ahmedabad District. The specific objectives include assessing teachers' knowledge and attitudes towards ADHD, exploring the correlation between these two factors, and determining the association between selected demographic variables and the knowledge of teachers about ADHD.
The research assumes that primary school teachers possess a good understanding of ADHD and maintain a positive attitude towards students with this condition. Additionally, it is hypothesized that a significant correlation exists between their knowledge and attitudes towards ADHD. The study also seeks to identify any significant associations between teachers' demographic characteristics—such as age, years of experience, and educational background—and their knowledge of ADHD. Data will be collected from a sample of primary school teachers in selected schools through structured questionnaires designed to assess their knowledge and attitudes. Statistical analyses will be conducted to identify correlations and associations between the variables. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the current state of knowledge and attitudes regarding ADHD among primary school teachers, which is crucial for fostering an inclusive educational environment. By highlighting areas for improvement, the study aims to contribute to the development of targeted training programs that can enhance teachers' understanding and support for children with ADHD, ultimately benefiting their educational experience and outcomes.
