Abstract

Azo ligands have developed significantly in recent decades due to their fundamental role in the coordination chemistry of transition elements. Their rapid response to coordination bonding in ligand and complex chemistry, particularly with divalent ions, is a key factor. The azo-bridged bond has played a well-established role in the formation of cobalt, nickel, and copper complexes. In this study, we prepared a novel ligand, an indole derivative bonded to an amine group in a five-membered indole ring with an azo-bridged group. Optimal conditions were employed for the preparation reaction, followed by the formation of three complexes with divalent nickel, cobalt, and copper, SEM provides high-resolution topographical data that confirms the transition from a macro-crystalline state to a nanostructured regime. In these specific complexes, SEM imaging reveals the success of the synthesis by identifying distinct morphologies such as nanosphere. Verification of the nanoscale landscape is fundamentally rooted in analytical chemistry. Techniques such as Powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) are hired to analyze crystallite size via the Scherrer equation , while Scanning/Transmission Electron Microscopy (SEM/TEM) provides visual evidence of morphology , The association among SEM and analytical chemistry is fixed in the structure-property association by Nano chemistry dictates that a high surface-to-volume ratio increases the number of active sites. SEM allows researchers to quantify the porosity and surface roughness of the complexes., The structures were confirmed to use violet- visible and infrared spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy was then used to analyze the complexes, along with a biological study evaluating the antibacterial activity of the ligand and the three complexes.
