The Himalaya—A Greatest Architectural Heritage and Tourism Destination of Earth World
Abstract: Mountains cover around 27% of the Earth’s land surface and contribute to the sustenance and well-being of 720 million people living in the mountains and billions more living downstream. In other way, we can say that over half the human population depends on mountains for water, food, and clean energy. The Himalayan region has a very important divine meaning for Hindus as a “sacred space”. For Hindus, it is not …

Planning, Development and Management of Sustainable Cities: A Review
Abstract: Cities are the most affected indicators of human activities on the surface of the earth. These human-dominated things, i.e., cities destroy natural habitats, streamline species composition, upset hydrological systems, and adjust energy flow and nutrient cycling. Today, these significant impacts of human activities, initiated from population increase, rapid urbanization, high private motor vehicle dependency, deregulated industrialization and mass livestock production, are increasing exponentially and causing great deal of environmental, social, …

Inclusive city development for ageing Indian population: Gap analysis and way forward
Abstract: Ageing is a term that has finally caught the attention of policy makers and development agencies. However, ageing (especially policies that investigate the welfare of this segment of the population in India) has been highly stereotyped. Policies in India treat ageing as only a matter of providing for health care and financial help. The concept of active ageing and including elderly population as active participants of the society is still …

Redefining Public Space for Urban Vendors in Streets of Delhi
Abstract: There lies a big debate on the space for hawkers at any public space who sell goods on streets. Street vendors often referred to as ‘encroachers,’ struggle to find their own space in the streets. The concept of Bazaar is an intrinsic characteristic of India. Yet the wave of globalisation has influenced the expanding cities to pursue its capitalistic motives and shun vending activities from the public arena. These vendors …

Cow and its role in the sustainable development
Abstract: During Vedic times the economy, agriculture, medicinal aspects of society are directly or indirectly based on cows and bulls. There is a close relationship between human welfare and welfare of the cows. When we consider milk alone, now-a-days, milk is processed in automated dairies, by blending several additives. In such dairies, the main motive is the profit for the business at the cost of exploitation of cows. There is no …

Influence of Contaminants on Ground Water and Associated Health Risk
Abstract: Due to the demand for safe water, groundwater quality which relates closely to human health has become as important as its quantity. Any place where surface water makes its way into ground water, organic chemicals and pathogens potentially can enter. Natural sources or numerous types of human activities can contaminate the ground water. Due to anthropogenic activities, like mining, and open dumping of industrial and domestic wastes which lead to …

Human Health is Affected by Noise Pollution
Abstract: Noise pollution has a substantial negative impact on human health. Long-term exposure to loud noises can cause stress, hearing loss, sleep disruptions, and cardiovascular problems, among other health problems. Noise decreases productivity and hinders cognitive function by making it difficult to focus and communicate. It may also result in agitation, worry, and even help develop mental health issues. To lessen the negative impacts of noise pollution on human well-being, adequate …
