Synthesis of chitosan mediated nanoparticles and its antimicrobial activity
Abstract: In this study, chitosan nanoparticles were synthesized from chitosan polymer by ionic gelation method. The chitin was first extracted from crab shell and then deacetylated to chitosan. The presence and characterization of chitosan nanoparticles was investigated by UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The antimicrobial property of these chitosan nanoparticles were studied against E.coli, S.aureus, S.typhi, P.aureginosa, C.albicans and A.niger and compare with chitosan polymer. CSNPs showed higher …

Experimental Test Results on the Effect of Ultrasonic Waves on Defects in Car Bearings: The Effect of Defect Size
Abstract: To check for defects in car bearings, they are identified and measured by sound waves that are affected by the defect. Based on sound, it is called ultrasound technology because it uses high frequencies. High frequencies are the basis of ultrasound. Two features are useful for low-speed cars, which by definition usually have poor signal tolerance. High frequencies are sensitive to the effects of sound waves. In addition, the ultrasound …

Nonlinear Finite Element Approaches for Structural Failure Prediction: A Comparative Assessment with Case Studies
Abstract: Abstract Nonlinear finite element methods (NLFEM) have become indispensable for predicting structural failure in complex engineering systems, particularly where linear models fail to capture critical behaviors, such as large deformations, crack propagation, and post-buckling responses. This study investigates and compares several state-of-the-art NLFEM techniques – namely cohesive zone modeling (CZM), extended finite element method (XFEM), and phase-field fracture modelling – in the context of structural failure prediction. Three representative case …

Three Dimensional (3D) Structure and Morphology ofCarbon Fibers from X-Ray Microscopy (XRM) Analysis†
Abstract: X-ray microscopy is an elegant chemical imaging technique that bridges the gap between lightmicroscopy and electron microscopy. Vital information on the chemical state (valency, surfacefunctionality), chemical composition, three-dimensional (3D) chemical structure (order, disorder, rupture), and chemical imaging can be obtained from X-ray microscopy. In the current originalresearch article, X-ray microscopy is used as a characterization tool to examine the microstructuralfeatures of commercial carbon fibers. Recent Trends in Production, Characterization, and Utilization of Fungal Chitosan
Abstract: Chitosan is the second most abundant biopolymer in nature after cellulose that can be extracted from marine sources, as well as from agricultural waste products such as mushrooms or other fungal sources following chitin deacetylation. The consistent production of these glycans by fungi is unaffected by seasonal changes, allowing for precise process control. This results in a more consistent quality of the final product. Currently, crustacean shells and other marine …
