Literature Review on Overcoming Graphene Dispersion Challenges in Ultra High Performance Concrete: A Review of Self-Dispersion and Bio-Polymer Encapsulation Strategies
Abstract: Abstract—Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new generation of cement-based material because of its higher compressive and tensile strength, increased durability, and higher resistance to environmental degradation. However, UHPC undergoes microcracking when subjected to mechanical and thermal loading, which can jeopardize the long-term performance of the structure, decrease service life, and cause expensive maintenance. Traditional solutions to enhance UHPC durability are centered on material densification and fiber strengthening, while these treatments …

Biopolymers in Medical Application: A Study
Abstract: Biopolymers – naturally derived macromolecules, such as polysaccharides, proteins, and polyhydroxyalkanoates – have emerged as a versatile toolbox for next-generation medical technologies. Their intrinsic biocompatibility, tunable degradation kinetics, and capacity for molecular functionalization enable the design of devices that communicate with living tissue rather than merely coexist with it. This review synthesizes recent advances across four inter-related fronts: (i) drug-delivery carriers, where chitosan-based nanoparticles and hyaluronic-acid hydrogels provide stimulus-responsive release …

The Lifespan of a Building: Evolution and Durability
Abstract: Abstract The structural lifespan of buildings and infrastructure decreases over time due to material degradation, with water penetration being a major contributing factor. Excess moisture weakens construction materials, leading to deterioration and reduced service life. Water absorption plays a critical role in structural degradation, particularly affecting foundations when infiltration occurs below ground level. In bridge structures, water-induced foundation instability can lead to failure, while in roadways, moisture weakens pavement layers, …
