Experimental Investigation of MRR and Surface Finish Using Abrasive Jet Machining of Aluminum Alloy 7475
Abstract: In this thesis, different experiments are performed on aluminum alloy 7475 by varying various parameters such as pressure, sand feed, transverse speed and standoff distance, i.e. nozzle-to-work-piece distance to determine material removal rates and surface finish. Optimization is done using L9 orthogonal array by Taguchi technique to determine better parameters to obtain maximum removal rates and minimum surface roughness. The parameters considered are transverse speed 50, 100, 150 mm/min; standoff …

Effect of Abrasive Water Jet Machining Parameters—An Experimental Investigation
Abstract: Machining studies on the fiber reinforced polymer composites is vital requirement for the composites application in different fields. Particularly advanced machining techniques like abrasive water jet machining can be machined with higher accuracy and distortion free composites. In this work aims to study the abrasive machining parameters on the basalt fiber polymer composites. The woven basalt fiber reinforced polymer composites were prepared using hand layup techniques. The machining effect of …

Waterjet Peening Process: A Review
Abstract: Water jet machining is few of the most adaptive and unconventional type of machining with huge advantage over the conventional type machining. Depth of cut measurement is a vital component in evolution of completely automated Abrasive Waterjet (AWJ) machining system. While cutting Ti-6Al-4V under waterjet, it is important to measure the depth of cut of material at the instant of cutting. This is a major drawback of Water Jet Machining …
