Third Generation Biofuel as Alternative Fuel for Compression Ignition Engine

By Bhojraj N. Kale

Abstract: In recent years, many researchers have tested compression ignition engines with the goal of creating a diesel fuel alternative. This was also published in literature. The limited supply and increased cost of petroleum products are two main reasons for the search for alternate feedstocks for biodiesel. This paper reviews the potential of alternative biodiesel feedstocks…

Optimizing Internal Combustion Engine Performance and Fleet Fuel Economy through Machine Learning and AI using Big Data Analytics

By Arumugam Palanichamy, Karthikeyan Subramanian, Rajavel Rangasamy, and Suresh Alex Selvaraj

Abstract: This paper presents a software-defined operational intelligence approach for optimizing internal combustion engine performance and fleet fuel economy using Big Data Analytics combined with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Real-world vehicle data is transformed into engineered features and virtual sensing outputs to estimate fuel consumption, driver behaviour, and component health without additional hardware. The proposed…

A Review on Hybrid Honeycomb Engine Mounts for Vibration Isolation in Variable Compression Ratio Engines

By Mr. Anuj A. Muley and Dr. Pravin Nerkar Nerkar

Abstract: The increasing sophistication of modern engine systems has highlighted the importance of advanced vibration control methods. Engines today are required to function under continuously changing operating conditions, particularly in Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) systems, where vibration behavior becomes highly complex, non-linear, and dependent on time. Under such circumstances, conventional engine mounts often struggle to deliver…

Comprehensive Review and Analysis of Gas Turbine Power Plant Performance: Impact of Operating Conditions, Ambient Temperature, and Cycle Configurations

By Nagendra Singh, Manish Dixit, Devendra Singh Chauhan, and Gopal Sharma

Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive review of gas turbine (GT) power plants, focusing on simple and complex cycles. The review examines the influence of operating conditions, ambient temperature, and cycle configurations on GT performance. Turbine work and thermal efficiency decrease with increasing ambient temperature. Thermal efficiency increases linearly with compression ratio, but decreases with ambient…

Experimental Analysis of Performance, Combustion and Emission Characteristics of a Thermal Barrier–Coated Piston Diesel Engine Fuelled with Jatropha Biodiesel Blended with Nanoparticles

By Mamuni Arya

Abstract: Abstract The present study experimentally investigates the performance, combustion, and emission characteristics of a compression ignition diesel engine equipped with a thermal barrier–coated (TBC) piston and fuelled with alumina nanoparticle-enhanced Jatropha biodiesel.  A yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) ceramic coating was applied on the piston crown to reduce heat loss and improve in-cylinder thermal conditions. Jatropha biodiesel…
