Abstract

This research explores the mechatronics design and implementation of a Delta robot, known for its high precision and speed in a variety of applications. The project involves the integration of a Mechanical CAD model with Kinematics, an Electronics system with a control algorithm, and the creation of Python-based software that includes controlling, programming, and visualizing the motion of the Delta robot. To expedite the construction of the Delta robot, 3D printing technology is leveraged to fabricate both the robot’s structural components and end-effector parts. These 3D-printed parts exhibit modularity, cost-effectiveness, and a rapid assembly process, significantly reducing construction time compared to traditional fabrication methods. The controller, inclusive of the control algorithm, is implemented in C++ and the Control Software employs the graphical user interface (GUI), Matplotlib for real-time visualization of the robot’s motion, and the serial library for seamless serial communication, enabling precise control and programming of the Delta robot. This research not only presents the complete mechatronic solution for the Delta robot but also showcases a practical approach for designing and fabricating robotic systems that are efficient, cost-effective, and adaptable to various applications.
