Bioremediation of Oil-Spilled Sites through Seeding Naturally Adapted Pseudomonas putida
Abstract: In the present study, crude oil degradation was analyzed using isolated bacterial strains. These bacterial strains were isolated from the crude-oil-contaminated soil sample. All the isolates were identified as species of Pseudomonas, in which the Pseudomonas putida P11 and LP1 demonstrated a strong ability to degrade kerosene, gasoline, diesel, engine oil and crude oil. Bioremediation for oil spill cleanup was analyzed by the inoculation of P. putida with the addition …

Humic substances and their importance on plant health and yield
Abstract: Plant growth depends on several factors. Optimum nutrients, water absorption, light quality and intensity, soil structure and fertility and many other factors control plant development. Good quality organic matter present in soil is crucial for soil structure and plant growth. Soils that are equipped with adequate amounts of nutrients viz., nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium; but devoid of humic substances undergo stress and retarded growth. Plants grown in presence of humic substances …

LEAD POISONING IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS, PROBLEM AND REMEDY: AN OVERVIEW
Abstract: Lead poisoning, is now, considered the most preventable public health problem. Childhood lead exposure produces psychosocial and cognitive morbidity and its neurological and behavioral consequences are, now, well known. In this paper, many of the overt multi systematic effects of moderate to high levels of lead exposure are discussed. However, the current low blood lead levels (BLLs) in children are associated with neurodevelopmental deficits. Environmental lead exposure in children with …

Analysis of the Degradation of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) in a Polluted Stagnant Salt and Fresh Water Environment
Abstract: TPH dispersion in both water media was investigated using a transport model that included convective and diffusion factors. This model was used to track the TPH concentration in both vertical and horizontal dimensions. Therefore, it was expected that diffusion alone would regulate TPH transport or spreading in the x-direction, or horizontal direction, while diffusion and convection caused by gravity would control TPH transport in the vertical direction. As a result, …

Study of the energy utilisation characteristics of solid state hydrogen storage and recovery systems
Abstract: The energy usage patterns during solid state hydrogen storage and retrieval on commercially available hydride forming alloys have been examined in this work through thermodynamic model based calculations, considering the entire storage and recovery system. It is calculated that energy (mechanical and thermal) equivalent to about 16 to 30% of the stored hydrogen energy is involved in the hydriding step, while 9 to 40% of the stored hydrogen energy equivalent …

Electronic Waste Vs Environmental Sustainability: Global Ultimatum to Society
Abstract: We often suppose that the risks of electronic waste solely have an effect on us which come back directlywith it and are in the main a consequence of inappropriate handling. Obviously, this can be right andthere are many studies that proof the risks ensuing from direct contact with harmful materialscomparable to lead, metal or chromium. The studies together alert us concerning however differentelements, let's say brominated flame retardants generate toxic …
