Lead (II) Ion Biosorption from Aqueous Solution ontoHexadecyltriammonium Bromide (HDTMA-Br) Modified Dry Water Hyacinth
Abstract: Heavy metal release into the environment by industrial activities has become a persistent problem, with these contaminants continually increasing in concentration. Heavy metals not only circulatethrough ecosystems but also accumulate in organisms over time, which elevates their toxic effectsalong the food chain. This research was conducted to explore the efficiency of biosorption inremoving lead (II) ions from aqueous solutions using water hyacinth powder modified withhexadecyltriammonium bromide (HDTMA-Br), a cationic surfactant. The …

Planar-to-Rotary G-code Transformation Via Post-Processing for Discrete 4-Axis Machining
Abstract: Conventional 4-axis CNC machining remains inaccessible to many due to the high costs of industrial hardware and the complexity of firmware modifications for entry-level controllers. This paper presents a software-defined framework that enables Planar-to-Rotary G-code Transformation, allowing standard 3-axis CNC systems to perform discrete 4-axis machining without hardware retrofits or firmware changes. The core of the proposed method is a custom Python-based post-processor that maps Cartesian XZ toolpaths onto a …

Valorization of agro-industrial waste into bioethanol: a case of brewers spent grain
Abstract: AbstractThe global impetus to produce alternatives to petroleum-based fuels and value-added chemicals to reduce greenhouse gases are putting pressure on the industries to diversify and valorize byproducts. By-products valorization of the brewery industry such as spent grain has given critical attention for long-term socio-economic and environmental benefits. Brewer`s spent grain is the major by-product of the brewing industry, represses around 85% of the total by-product generated. In the current work, …

Performance Enhancement of Cold Mix Asphalt via FlyAsh Substitution: Marshal Stability Results
Abstract: This study examines the enhancement of cold mix asphalt (CMA) performance through the substitution of fly ash at varying percentages. Specifically, Marshal stability tests were conducted on CMA mixtures with fly ash content of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%. The results reveal a significant increase in peak loads, with the CMA mixture containing no fly ash achieving a peak load of 0.62 kN, while mixtures with 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% …

Feasibility Study on Spent Pot Lining (SPL) as Raw Material in Cement Manufacture Process
Abstract: SPL is a waste material that comes free from the production of Aluminum industrial. SPL is separated in two fractions: a carbon-rich fraction referred to as “first cut” and a refractories rich fraction referred to as “second cut”. One commonly used solution is the processing of SPL fractions in cement kilns. The primary reasons for the cement producer to process the SPL are the reduction in raw material costs from …

Effectiveness of Video-Assisted Teaching on Knowledge and Self-Care Skills of Patients Subjected to Valvular Replacement Surgery
Abstract: Valvular heart disease (VHD) remains common in industrialized countries. Two most common types of valvular disease are aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation. The prevalence of valvular disease increases sharply with age, owing to the predominance of degenerative etiologies. The burden of heart valvular disease in the elderly has an important impact on patient management, given the high frequency of morbidity and the increased risk associated with intervention in this age …
