Comparative Study of Corrosion Inhibition In Carbon Steel Using Non Ionic Surfactants In Acidic Medium
Abstract: The use of surfactants is one of the numerous ways of protecting a metallic surface from electrochemical oxidation or corrosion. The amphiphilic nature of these surfactants leads to the formation of a protective layer on the metallic surface, effectively minimizing the area of contact between the fluids and the metal, thus inhibiting corrosion. Cationic surfactant like CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) has been most commonly used as a corrosion inhibitor, but since …

Netherton Syndrome
Abstract: Netherton syndrome is a rarely found disorder which is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern which consists of ichtchyosiform dermatosis, hair shaft abnormalities (trichorrhexis invaginata), and atopic diathesis. This disease results due to a mutation on chromosome 5q32 in a gene named SPINK5 (serine protease inhibitor, kazal type-5) which encodes inhibitors of serine proteases known as LEKTI.

Cryogenic Electron Microscopy Reveals Conformational Dynamics and Catalytic Mechanisms of Human Fatty Acid Synthase in De Novo Lipid Biosynthesis
Abstract: Fatty acid synthase (FASN) is a multifunctional homodimeric enzyme central to de novo fatty acid synthesis in mammals. Recent cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) studies have illuminated the structural basis of FASN catalysis, revealing multiple conformational states throughout the synthesis cycle. These findings show that the acyl carrier protein (ACP) domain dynamically shuttles substrates between spatially separated active sites, while the condensing and modifying regions remain structurally stable. In contrast to …

Role of Human Carboxylesterase’s in Xenobiotics Metabolism
Abstract: According to one definition, xenobiotics are alien compounds that interfere with an organism's natural metabolism. Many xenobiotics can have a number of harmful effects if they don't have metabolism. There are several phase 1 metabolizing enzymes of xenobiotics which have capability to detoxify the toxic compounds. Several important metabolic detoxication enzymes are presented, including the mammalian microsomal cytochrome Carboxylesterases. Mammalian carboxyleterases are key enzymes from the serine hydrolase enzyme. Carboxylesterases …

Strategies for Mitigating Nitrate Leaching: A Comprehensive Methodological
Abstract: Nitrogen (N) serves as a fundamental nutrient crucial for promoting plant growth. However, the mismanagement of nitrogen fertilization within agricultural contexts has led to significant instances of nitrate leaching, particularly pronounced within fruit production systems. Empirical research has underscored the danger of elevated nitrate levels in potable water, posing potential threats to human health. Furthermore, the widespread presence of nitrates in riverine ecosystems accelerates eutrophication, thereby imposing detrimental effects on …
