Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregate with Coconut Shell
Abstract: In such a structure, we are studying coconut shell which is a good replacement. It is a concrete or coconut shell that we will study on. We put the coconut shell on the replacement of cement, because coconut shell is very light weight. so instead of concrete we will use it, and in a way, using concrete. It is a non-renewable natural stone aggregate which proves to be very convenient …

Enhancing Soil Stabilization with Chitosan Biopolymer Integration
Abstract: In this work, clay soil is stabilized using a biocompatible chitosan solution derived from shrimp shell waste. The biopolymer chitosan has attracted attention in the field of geoenvironmental studies because of its possible applications in the absorption of heavy metals, the mitigation of soil erosion, and the improvement of hydraulic conductivity. However, a thorough investigation into its impact on the mechanical properties of soil has not yet been conducted. A …

A Review on Reduction of Scrap in Foundry by Using of Quality Control Tools
Abstract: Casting is one of the oldest manufacturing processes and is a primary manufacturing process. Products originating from castings are the input for many manufacturing processes such as forging, machining, rolling, wire drawing, extrusion, and welding. Therefore, the product made from casting should be a good quality product without defects or with minimum defects. Indeed, the quality of the products reduces as a reason of many process parameters such as molten …

Identifying, Developing, and Moving Sustainable Communities Through Application of Bioenergy for Energy or Materials: Future Perspective Through Energy Efficiency
Abstract: The demand for energy continued to outstrip supply and necessitated the development of biomass option. Residues were the most popular forms of renewable energy and currently biofuel production became much promising. Agricultural wastes contained high moisture content and could be decomposed easily by microbes. Agricultural wastes were abundantly available globally and could be converted to energy and useful chemicals by a number of micro-organisms. Compost or biofertiliser could be produced …

Influence of Moisture Damage on Resilient Modulus of Asphalt Concrete
Abstract: Deterioration of asphalt concrete pavement by the action of moisture damage is a major problem facing the serviceability and durability of flexible pavement, it starts with micro cracking of the pavement surface due to load repetitions, and followed by stripping and disintegration of pavement layer. In this investigation, the influence of moisture damage on resilient modulus of asphalt concrete had been assessed under repeated tensile and shear stresses. Asphalt concrete …

Chemical Compositions of Three Economic Tuber Crops Grown In South East, Nigeria
Abstract: Yam (Dioscorea spp) are known for their climbing properties, twining stems which coils readily around a stake and exhibiting glaborous leaves. Via root system, they are perennial but are usually grown as annual crops. Yam is economically important because it serves a staple food for millions of people in Africa, as well as Nigeria. There is limited information on nutrients composition of Nigerian foods. As a result, nutrients intake from …

Correlating the Fatigue Life of Asphalt Concrete with Permanent Deformation
Abstract: Modelling the deformation-fatigue life of asphalt concrete can furnish an easy access for prediction of the pavement behavior under various service circumstances. An attempt has been made in this investigation to correlate the fatigue life of asphalt concrete with the permanent deformation after considering the test variables such as binder content, testing temperature, practicing moisture damage, and practicing ageing. It can be observed that at high microstrain level of 750, …

Effect of Colloidal Nanosilica on High Strength Rice Husk Ash Concrete
Abstract: Nowadays, supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) are used in concrete because it reduces CO2 emission during. The husks, which are production of cement, reduces cement contents, improve workability, increase strength and enhance durability. Pozzolanic reaction takes place when siliceous or aluminous material comes in contact with calcium hydroxide in the presence of moisture to form compounds possessing cementitious properties approximately 50 percent cellulose, 30 percent lignin and 20 percent silica, are …

Assessment of Chloride Content in Plaster in Residential Buildings
Abstract: This study investigated the impact of chloride on building as per the age. Concrete samples were collected from buildings of different ages to measure chloride concentration. Findings revealed that chloride content increased with building age, potentially leading to decreased strength and damage. The research identified a significant concern of chloride-induced corrosion in older buildings, as chloride concentration increased with building age. To enhance the durability and safety of aging structures, …
