Field Assessment of Runway Pavement Surface Texture for Baghdad International Airport
Abstract: One of the major serviceability issues which reflects the suitability of the airport runway for serving international flights is the surface texture of concrete pavement. The concrete surface of the runway 33R-15L of Baghdad international airport is badly covered with large spots of aeroplanes tyre rubber. The international flight companies had claimed that the rough surface of the runway concrete pavement caused damage and deterioration to their aeroplane’s tyres. The …

Modeling and Simulation of Double-Pass Flat Plate Solar Air Heater Without Porous Media
Abstract: The double-pass solar collector with porous media in the lower channel provides a higher outlet temperature compared to the conventional double-pass collector without porous media. Therefore, the thermal efficiency of the solar collector is higher. A theoretical model has been developed for the double-pass solar collector. The porous media has been inserted to increase heat transfer, area density and the total heat transfer rate. Comparisons of the theoretical and the …

Features of Nanoflotation Technique – A Review
Abstract: ABSTRACT Flotation method is majorly availed in two sectors: mining industry (for separation of metal ores) and in wastewater treatment process (both for municipal and industrial wastewaters) for separation of suspended solids, emulsions, chemical sludge or excess sludge. Traditional flotation relies on floating of solids (mainly suspended solids) on the top of the liquid by air bubbles (in conventional process they have and average diameter of 100–300 μm). Better separation …

A Sensor Integrated Tool for Cutting Force Monitoring in Gantry Milling to Improve Flatness and Surface Finish: Review Study
Abstract: AbstractPrecision machining of sector plates plays a vital role in the efficient functioning of Air Pre-Heaters(APH), which are integral components of thermal power plants. These plates are subjected to harshthermal cycles and mechanical loads, making dimensional accuracy critical. For optimal heatexchange performance and mechanical reliability, it is essential to maintain tight manufacturingtolerances – flatness within ±400 microns and thickness up to 13 mm. Deviation from theseparameters can lead to air …
