Strategies for Mitigating Nitrate Leaching: A Comprehensive Methodological
Abstract: Nitrogen (N) serves as a fundamental nutrient crucial for promoting plant growth. However, the mismanagement of nitrogen fertilization within agricultural contexts has led to significant instances of nitrate leaching, particularly pronounced within fruit production systems. Empirical research has underscored the danger of elevated nitrate levels in potable water, posing potential threats to human health. Furthermore, the widespread presence of nitrates in riverine ecosystems accelerates eutrophication, thereby imposing detrimental effects on …

Dry Season Impact on Water Quality of Nworie River, Owerri, Nigeria
Abstract: This study assessed the physicochemical properties and heavy metal contamination of Nworie River during the dry season. Fifteen composite water samples were collected from strategic points along the river. In-situ measurements of pH, temperature, and electrical conductivity were undertaken, while laboratory analyses determined heavy metal concentrations. Pollution Load Index and Contamination Factor were employed to evaluate the overall water quality and contamination levels. Results indicated moderate to high levels of …

Microalgae in Bioremediation of Waste water and Production of Bioproducts
Abstract: Domestic wastewater treatment and remediation is an exclusive practice due to substantial time and scheduling needed for fruitful management. Recent waste water treatment plants are extremely mechanical and costly to build and sustain. Maximum of the domestic waste water is considered feeble or average in strength with nitrogen levels between 20–40 mg/L and phosphorus levels between 4–8 mg/L[3]. These concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus are unwanted as they can lead …

Review of Remediation of Hg & Cd from Industrial Waste water Using Different Methods
Abstract: Global modernization increasing adverse impact to the aquatic environment mainly due to industrial discharge of waste water. The industrial waste containing nutrients and heavy metals i.e. Hg and Cd leads to eutrophication in water bodies. Various industries released various heavy metals to the natural water bodies. Any kind of heavy metals released to the environment is carcinogenic or toxic in nature. So removal of heavy metals from waste water is …
