Novel method for determination of kinetic constants from dynamics in a batch reactor with constant heat input rate
Abstract: In this article a novel method of obtaining reaction kinetic constants is described. It consists of measuring both concentration and temperature dynamics in a batch reactor supplied with a constant heat input rate. A system of esterification reaction between acetic acid and methanol in the presence of a cationic resin catalyst is studied. This reversible reaction’s rate is modeled by molecular order and as pseudo homogeneous assumption. By just one …

Output regulation of hybrid renewable energy system through hysteresis control
Abstract: This paper proposes a hybrid energy conversion system combining photovoltaic and wind turbine as a small-scale alternative source of electrical energy where conventional generation is not practical. The hybrid system consists of photovoltaic panels, wind turbines and storage batteries. A new system configuration of the front-end rectifier stage for a hybrid wind/photovoltaic energy system is presented in the paper. It allows configuration allows the two sources to supply the load …

Feasibility Study on Spent Pot Lining (SPL) as Raw Material in Cement Manufacture Process
Abstract: SPL is a waste material that comes free from the production of Aluminum industrial. SPL is separated in two fractions: a carbon-rich fraction referred to as “first cut” and a refractories rich fraction referred to as “second cut”. One commonly used solution is the processing of SPL fractions in cement kilns. The primary reasons for the cement producer to process the SPL are the reduction in raw material costs from …
