Application of Jaya and PSO Algorithms for Optimal Sizing of Renewable Energy Sources in Power Systems
Abstract: The deregulation and privatization of the electrical sectors in recent years have caused the distribution systems to run closer to their load capacity limit. Due to the increased power loss resulting from this, the distribution system now operates at a higher voltage than the current transmission networks. For electric power system networks to be more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective, distributed generation must be positioned and sized optimally. Allocation helps minimize …

Exploring the Ettingshausen Effect: Magnetothermoelectric Transport in Graphene Nanoribbons and Iron-Carbon Alloys
Abstract: This study investigates the magnetothermoelectric effects, specifically the Ettingshausen effect, in graphene nanoribbons and iron-carbon alloys and explores their implications in plasma physics through self-similar modeling. The Ettingshausen effect, which involves the generation of a transverse heat current from a longitudinal charge current in the presence of a magnetic field, is analyzed using the Landauer-Büttiker formalism and nonequilibrium Green's function methods. Results reveal that in graphene nanoribbons, the Ettingshausen effect …

Quantification of Morphine, Codeine, and Dihydrocodeine in Carissa carandas Leaves and Fruit Using LC-MS/MS: The Impact of Drying on Alkaloid Concentration
Abstract: This study presents a method for quantifying morphine, codeine, and dihydrocodeine in Carissa carandas (Karonda) leaves and fruit, employing morphine-D3 as an internal standard (1 µg/mL) to ensure accuracy. Samples are prepared at 25 ng/mL and extracted using solvent techniques, with an optional solid-phase extraction step to mitigate matrix effects. Quantification is conducted via LC-MS/MS, providing robust sensitivity. Results show that drying concentrates these alkaloids, particularly morphine in fruit, due …

A Study to analyze compliance to timing of thrombolytic loading dose among patient with acute myocardial infarction and its impact on patient outcomes
Abstract: Thrombolytic medications work by breaking down large blood clots, allowing blood to flow back to the heart and reducing the risk of heart muscle damage. These agents can help prevent a heart attack from progressing to a myocardial infarction, which can be life-threatening. Fibrinolytic drugs are the preferred treatment for STEMI, as they promote reperfusion and restore blood flow when given within 12 hours of symptom onset. A 12- hour …
